Summary of Position:
This position is to carry out the biblical mission of Kelleytown Baptist Church (KBC) in the area of ministering God’s Word to and among the families of KBC, with a special focus on our children and students. The person filling this ministry position at KBC will provide pastoral care to the generations of the church by overseeing the student and children’s ministries to ensure that the family of God is working together to make disciples of all generations. He is a shepherd to parents of KBC because it is their duty in God’s design to train, disciple, and raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. He will provide pastoral care for the young (children, youth, and early adults). He also ministers among other mature adults because they have an important role in the discipleship and mentoring of parents and young people alike.

Qualifications:
  1. Fulfill the biblical qualifications of a pastor (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5- 16).
  2. Willingness to become an active member of KBC in both attendance and stewardship.
  3. Possess a passion to make disciples and see spiritual growth among children and students.
  4. An ability to clearly communicate and articulate the gospel.
  5. Commitment to the inspiration, infallibility, inerrancy, sufficiency, and
    authority of Scripture.
  6. Agree fully with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  7. Possess a passion for the health and maturity of the local church.
  8. Commitment to expository preaching, teaching, and ministry.
  9. Will be able to fill the pulpit of KBC at the request of the senior pastor.
  10. Pursuing theological education or having already obtained, with the heart of a
    learner.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Director of Family Ministry is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor and Personnel Team. The Director of Family Ministry may supervise other assistants, volunteers, or assigned staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (Under the guidance of the Senior Pastor)
1. Organize youth discipleship teaching teams for children, youth and college students.
2. Select curriculum, with the help of the children’s and youth leadership volunteers, for all student discipleship programs.
3. Maintain a calendar for all children and student’s activities for discipleship, outreach and fellowship.
4. Develop ongoing church/school partnerships with public and private area schools, and participate with students in their activities and sporting events as appropriate.
5. Establish and oversee the budget for children, youth and college ministries.
6. Maintain, with the help of part-time staff, a schedule of volunteers for teachers for all student discipleship & activities.
7. Maintain, with the help of part-time staff, a schedule of volunteers for nursery, pre- school & church events requiring childcare.
8. Cooperate with pastor and those involved to raise up, develop, train, and place volunteers.
9. At the approval of the senior pastor, select and chair at least a 3-member council team each for children’s ministry, youth ministry, and college student ministry which will help administrate and volunteer for these ministries. Each council team is not in charge, but prays, plans, volunteers, meets regularly and gives council together.
10. Chaperone and/or arrange supervision for all children and student activities.
11. All other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Additionally:
  1. Be in regular attendance at Church worship services and participate with other teams/committees in the Church to promote and achieve church spiritual growth.
  2. Be involved with students in their school and activities.
  3. Make arrangements for coverage of responsibilities during absences.
  4. Inform the congregation and parents through media network such as the bulletin,
    newsletters, website, e-mail, social media platforms, etc. assisted  by the Director of Media and the Church Ministry Assistant with the approval of the Senior Pastor.
  5. Lead in accordance with God’s Word and The Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  6. Be guided by the Church Constitution and By-laws, and Personnel Policy.
  7. Maintain an active and personal Bible study, devotional and prayer life.
